[trip details deleted] In short, I loved it. As I "grew up" and had to be a *responsible adult* I gave up tripping. It's been about15 years since the last time, and I often get nostalgic (like I am right now). Maybe when I retire........

Bill's comment got me to thinking about how many people I know who also "grew up" and stopped tripping, but really wish they hadn't. I'm one of the few "responsible adults" in my circle of friends who still trips. Granted, I don't do it very often; however, I find those occasional trips both fun & intellectually helpful. I realize that I get a lot more out of tripping now than I ever did when I was a teenager. Yet, a lot of people give up tripping after fairly heavy usage in their teens and college years. Yeah, sure it's great to experience your first trip around the same time you're experiencing so many other things for the first time, but I think the real beauty of LSD emerges when one is older & wiser. Perversely, most people give up tripping before it might actually be *useful* in dealing with life, instead of just escapist fun.
I'd like comments from others about this phenomenon--the tendency for "responsible adults" to eschew tripping.
